Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community

From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

ADRA Canada, British Columbia Conference, and Others Partner to Help as Lytton Wildfires Ravage British Columbia Village, Displacing More Than 1,800 Residents

June 29, at 49.4 degrees Celcius (120.9 °F), Lytton tied with Death Valley, California, as the hottest place in North America. Already well-known as the location of Canada’s highest temperature records, Lytton went on to set an all-time high of 49.6 degrees Celcius (121.3 °F) on June 30. The excessive heat jeopardized the lives of those in the area. Then the fire came.

Refugees Empowered as Adventist Leaders in Ministry on World Refugee Sabbath

The North American Division and the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church designate a special day each year during the month of June for Refugee Sabbath ("World Refugee Sabbath") to raise awareness of the needs of the unprecedented numbers of refugees who have fled their homes due to war and persecution. This year, on June 19, two significant events occurred on Refugee Sabbath, serving to empower refugees and their leaders in ministry.
