From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

Kenneth O. Cox, Adventist Evangelist, Passes to His Rest at 84

Kenneth O. Cox, whose career as a Seventh-day Adventist evangelist spanned decades, continents, and time zones, passed to his rest on July 3, 2019 at the age of 84. Cox, who lived near Loma Linda, California, succumbed following heart surgery.

Tornado Relief Continues in Ohio, Missouri, and Arkansas

The Mid-West region of the United States experienced a tornado outbreak sequence throughout the month of May that left widespread devastation. The major weather event produced 300 tornados, including 18 EF3 tornadoes and two EF4 tornados. Adventist organizations and Adventist Community Services projects and partnerships in affected areas of Ohio, Missouri, and Arkansas mobilized to address the dire needs of residents who lost housing, water, and power in the aftermath, and are continuing to provide long-term relief.
