That commitment was on display at the 2025 General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, where the five healthcare systems in the North American Division (NAD) united to present a compelling witness to medical ministry as an extension of gospel work.

Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community
From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

As It Celebrates 50 years, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs Expands to Serve Seminole County’s Growing Population
In 1973, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, formerly known as Florida Hospital Altamonte, opened for Seminole County residents with three doctors, 104 beds, and mostly volunteers pitching in to help. Today, the hospital has 393 beds, 385 doctors, and 2,085 team members. Seminole County had a population of 122,000 in 1973, but it is now more than 485,000 and it continues to grow.
Westward Mission: From California to Hawaii
The stories we tell matter. Perhaps my favorite stories in our Adventist past pertain to how Adventism spread to new places; and in telling our Adventist stories, we should not overlook how Adventism spread across what is today the North American Division.
For More Than 160 Adventist Communicators, 2023 GAiN Americas Convention Spotlights Technology, Collaboration, and Mission for Greater Impact
The 2023 Global Adventist Internet Ministry (GAiN) convention, held June 7-11 at the North American Division (NAD) headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, brought together more than 160 communicators and leaders from the North American, Inter-American, and South American divisions. Sessions were conducted in English, with live Spanish interpretation.
Empowering the Marginalized
From April 27-29, 112 Prison Ministries leaders, volunteers, and guests gathered at the North American Division’s (NAD) headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, for the 2023 NAD Prison Ministry Conference. Themed “Ministry to the Marginalized,” it drew inspiration from Jesus’ call to serve prisoners in Matthew 25:40.
