Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community

From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

Together in Worship: Time with God During the 2022 NAD Year-End Meetings

Though the theme for the 2022 Year-End Meetings for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD) is “Together in Mission,” the church leaders gathered were also together in worship each morning. These worship sessions began with hymns, scripture, and special music before the sermon, each day presented by a different speaker.

Southern Adventist University Alum Inducted into TICUA Hall of Fame

This month, the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA) announced its 2022 Hall of Fame inductees, including Southern Adventist University alum and long-time physician Robert Bowers. A 1957 biology graduate, Bowers embodies his alma mater’s values and commitment to serving others generously.

Seventh-day Adventist Church Organization to Host Thanksgiving Fresh Produce Giveaway

On Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, the North American headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will give away 10,000 lbs. of fresh fruit and vegetables. “During this Thanksgiving season, we want to help our neighbors and express our gratitude for being a part of the local Howard County community,” says Orlan Johnson, Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Ministries for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America.

Southwestern Adventist University Singers Perform at Westminster Abbey 

“The opportunity of a lifetime,” “a mind-blowing experience,” “the best week of my life,” “unforgettable memories,” “an experience beyond my wildest dreams,” “my most treasured memory,” “a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” and “the highlight of my university years” were just some of the remarks from members of The University Singers after their recent concert tour to the United Kingdom. From August 11-18, 2022, The Singers, along with British composer Philip W. Stopford, were invited to perform at Westminster Abbey, Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth Cathedral.
