Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community

From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

La Sierra University Ranks No. 4 for Social Mobility, Climbs in Best Value in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

La Sierra University maintained its robust status in the 2025 Best Colleges rankings released on Sept. 24, 2024 by U.S. News & World Report, bettering its placement for "Best Value" and retaining its position as No. 4 within 15 western states for "Social Mobility," an indicator of a university’s ability to enroll and graduate disadvantaged students.

Pentecost 2025 News

"We're asking for God's Spirit to do something above and beyond what we can do," said G. Alexander Bryant, North American Division president, this past May as plans to share Pentecost 2025 with the NAD executive committee took shape. Pentecost 2025 launched on July 1 and, to date, more than 2,100 churches and schools have signed up.

New AdventHealth Complex Opens at Union Adventist University

To start the new school year, Union Adventist University officially opened a renovated and expanded wellness center, the newly named AdventHealth Complex. It’s a grand opening 44 years in the making. Ever since Union health center first opened, the campus master plan has called for a second phase. Now with a new name and a major expansion, the promises of 1980 have finally become a reality for the students of 2024.

Pacific Union College's Biology Department Awarded More Than $300K for Study and Outreach

Pacific Union College Professors Drs. Scott Butterfield and Floyd Hayes from the biology department were awarded two grants totaling more than $300,000 from the Blue Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake and the National Audubon Society's Audubon in Action program to develop a monitoring program for grebes, a bioindicator of ecosystem health, at Clear Lake.
